When peeling citrus fruits for juicing or smoothies, leave the pithy white part intact, as it is packed with bioflavonoids and fiber.
- 1 blood orange, peeled
- 1/2 cup carrot juice
- 1/2 cup ice
- 2 Tbs. chia seeds
- 1/2 cup sparkling water (such as Pellegrino)

Did You Know?
Bubbly water such as Pellegrino provides electrolyte minerals, and is carbonated with carbon dioxide, which is harmless (compared to the unhealthy phosphoric acid that is commonly used in sodas).
