Ever since the first enterprising foodie churned the first vat of milk, sugar, and egg yolks, ice cream has been our favorite dessert. Wholesome and simple, it has endured for generations. But today, thanks to worrisome growth hormones, antibiotics, and pesticide residues in milk, this basic dessert standard has become a much more complicated affair.
Lucky for us, organic versions of our perennial favorite are available now more than ever before. And for the lactose-intolerant, a wide range of organic frozen desserts-from rice, hemp, cashew, and coconut versions-offer creamy, dairy-free comfort. Just give a few of our favorites a try, and we promise you'll be screaming for more.
