Blueberry Hemp Nut smoothie

Either wild blueberries or huckleberries can be used in this tangy, slightly sweet and refreshing smoothie. Dense antioxidant polyphenols give this blender drink its rich purple color.

1/2 cup frozen wild blueberries
1/2 cup ice
1/2 cup blueberry nectar
1 Tbs. chia seeds

Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Drink immediately.

Wild blueberries contain phytochemicals that help reverse hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) and improve metabolism. Wild blueberries are preferable to cultivated (common) blueberries, as they have a richer flavor and tend to be higher in antioxidants.
