A cup of low-calorie cranberry juice, twice daily, can reduce key risk factors for heart disease, says a study published in the Journal of Nutrition. Researchers compared the juice with a placebo among 56 men and women with an average age of 50. During a period of eight weeks, cranberry juice lowered chronic inflammation by 44 percent and reduced harmful levels of triglycerides, blood pressure, and blood sugar.
