Extra Sleep Associated with Offices with Windows

46 minutes: Average amount of extra sleep per night among people whose offices had windows, compared to those who worked in windowless spaces, according to a study at Northwestern Medicine and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Natural light also improved mood, alertness, and metabolism, and correlated with more physical activity. Another study, of nurses, found that natural light increased laughter and lowered blood pressure.
