Vitamin C is essential for the repair and maintenance of just about every part of the human body, including skin, tendons, ligaments, blood vessels, bones, and teeth. Researchers from the Perlmutter Cancer Center at NYU Langone Health have discovered a specific way in which the vitamin protects adults against blood cancers. Vitamin C feeds healthy stem cells in bone marrow and tells mutated ones, which can lead to leukemia or other cancers, to die.
Good food sources of vitamin C include:
